4 new Hamilton cases have been reported this weekend bringing our total here to 5.
There has been 1 new case in Niagara today. A woman in her 50’s who recently travelled to Egypt bringing the region’s total to 2.
In Halton, there have been 3 cases.
The province is reporting 42 new cases of COVID-19.
It is the biggest single-day spike in the province since the outbreak began.
In total 145 people have tested positive. 5 of those cases have been resolved, more than 7000 were found to be negative.
In a statement Niagara region, public health says the woman in her 50’s who tested positive “has interacted only with a family member during the time she may have been contagious, and has not exposed anyone in the community.”
Hamilton public health continues to work through its new cases which include a 3-month-old baby who contracted the virus from a relative who had recently travelled.
