Onley reflects on time as Lt. Gov.

Yesterday, he delivered his final throne speech as lieutenant governor. And today, David Onley was a guest on Square Off. The former TV journalist reflected not only on his time at Queen’s Park, but the historic building itself.
“In this remarkable building that’s been here since 1893, you are overwhelmed by the sense of history,” said Onley. “Just to be brought into our main awards room called the music room. That King George VI visited this room, the Dionne quintuplets, general Dwight D. Eisenhower, every premier, virtually every cabinet minister in Ontario since the 1890’s have gone through this very room. You immediately have the overwhelming sense of history.”
Onley made accessibility rights his legacy in the office. He will be replaced by veteran public servant Elizabeth Dowdeswell sometime in the next few months.
