One teen in hospital after nightclub shooting in St. Catharines

A teenage boy is recovering in hospital after being shot at a nightclub in St. Catharines early Sunday morning.

Niagara police say a 16-year-old male from Ajax was found with gunshot wounds outside Club 88 on St. Paul Street around 12:45 a.m.

It’s believed the shooting happened near a bathroom inside the club.

Authorities have described the shooter as a male wearing a black Nike sweater and black jogging pants.

Officers had been in the area on patrol when they heard shots fired.

The teen’s injuries have been determined to be non-life threatening.
