One person arrested after human trafficking investigation in Dunnville

The Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a person at an address on Robinson Rd. in Dunnville for human trafficking.

On Jan. 1, just after 4:30 p.m. Haldimand County OPP responded to a 911 call to an address in Dunnville for human trafficking.

Officers have taken a person who is facing nine charges including forcible confinement, uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm and assault causing bodily harm – chokes, suffocates or strangles.

Investigators say the accused person has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear in a Cayuga courthouse at a later date.

In a statement, police say no further information, including the name of the accused, will be released due to a court-ordered publication ban.

Officers say human trafficking is not confined to “big cities,” it can happen anywhere.
