One man taken to hospital after fire at a multi-unit home in Mount Hope

A man has been taken to hospital after a fire at a home on Upper James St. on Friday.

Hamilton fire crews received a call about a structure fire at a multi-unit home, near English Church Rd., before 9:30 a.m.

The fire was located in an apartment unit at the back of the home.

Flames were visible when crews arrived on scene.

Fire officials say the 40-year-old man was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

It’s not clear what started the fire.
