A 22-year-old Burlington man died after a single vehicle rollover that happened early Saturday morning.
Halton Police received a call at 6 a.m. from someone who saw a white Volkswagen in a field off the road at Walkers Line south of Britannia Road.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene when it was found that he was ejected from the vehicle. It is unclear if he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Officials said the car rolled over several times. Investigators determined that the driver was travelling too fast for the wet road conditions and for the lay of the road, which was a sharp left bend at Britannia Road.
Police cannot confirm if alcohol or distracted driving played a factor in the crash this early in the investigation.
However, they ask motorists to pay close attention to road signs and to slow down when roads are wet.
