One last day on the campaign trail

On this last day of the longest federal election campaign since 1872, the major party leaders are try to win votes in the major battlegrounds.
The incumbent Prime Minister will start his day in Newmarket. The area surrounding Toronto — named the 905 belt after the area code for the surrounding regions — was instrumental to victory in the 2011 election for the Tories. Stephen Harper was in suburban Toronto last night for a rally organized by the city’s controversial former mayor, Rob Ford and his brother Doug.
He’ll attend a photo-op in Mississauga later this morning before flying to Regina for a campaign event early this afternoon.
Justin Trudeau will begin Sunday with rallies in Calgary and Edmonton, both Conservative strongholds where the Liberals are hoping to add some urban Alberta seats away from the Conservatives.
He will end the day with two rallies in the Vancouver area.
Tom Mulcair flies from B.C. to Toronto where the NDP are seen to be in a tight battle with the Liberals in some inner city ridings. Mulcair will then proceed to Montreal tonight for his final rally of the campaign.
Green Party leader Elizabeth May will campaign Sunday in the Victoria-area, where they see their best chance at winning seats.
Gilles Duceppe ends the Bloc Quebecois campaign with events in Trois-Rivieres, Sherbrooke, Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu and Montreal.
