One dead, another in hospital following collision on Highway 410

The Ontario Provincial Police say one person is dead and another is in hospital after a two-vehicle collision on Highway 410 in Mississauga.

Around 11 p.m. on Thursday, a minivan was travelling on Highway 410 southbound near Highway 407.

The driver of a minivan struck an SUV that was also travelling towards the same direction.

Investigators say this collision resulted in both drivers to lose control and drive into the ramp lanes to Highway 407.

Police say the minivan crashed through a concrete wall and rolled over onto the ditch next to the ramp lanes.

The driver of the minivan, a 23-year-old from Mississauga was taken to hospital with serious injuries and his passenger was pronounced dead and remains unidentified at this time.

There were three people in the second vehicle and none of them sustained any injuries.
