One adult dead, two injured in fire in Toronto’s Little Italy

TORONTO — Toronto paramedics say one adult is dead and two others are injured after a fire broke out in Little Italy.

Toronto fire officials say crews responded around 10:20 a.m. to reports of a fire at a three-storey building on College Street at Manning Avenue.

Fire officials say crews pulled three people from the building during the initial search and rescue operation.

Paramedics say one person died at the scene and two others were sent to hospital with minor injuries.

Fire officials say the fire has been put out after it was initially found on the second floor.

The first floor of the building is a sandwich shop, with residential units on the second and third floors.
