Oil-soaked rags caused early morning garage fire at Burlington home

Fire officials in Burlington say oil-soaked rags caused an early morning garage fire.

Firefighters were called to a home on Marion Ct. around 3 a.m. Monday.

They say crews could see smoke when they arrived. They were on scene for about two hours.

There were six people inside the home. Fire officials say one person was injured but the extent of their injuries is unclear.

Officials are reminding people to properly dispose oil-soaked rags.

They say rags should be placed in a metal container with a tight fitting lid. The container should be filled with water until the rags are submerged.
