Officers cycling for fallen comrades
27 law enforcement officers are biking their way to the Canadian Police & Peace Officer’s Memorial in Ottawa.
They left the Niagara Police St Catharines detachment just after 8:00 this morning.
Family members of the four Niagara officers who died in the line of duty were also there to send them off.
The group, which includes 16 members from Niagara Regional Police, will bike 645 kilometres over four days before they reach their destination Saturday afternoon.
Most have ridden between three and four thousand kilometres to train for this journey.
