Officer taken to Sunnybrook

After he was shot, officer Klarenbeek was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto.

Officer Klarenbeek was in stable condition this evening.

When he was first brought to the hospital the laneway behind the building was packed with cruisers from Toronto and Peel police. We have seen Peel regional police officers go in and out of the hospital — showing their support for their fellow wounded officer. Peel regional police Chief Jennifer Evans was here earlier today, joining Klarenbeek’s family in the trauma unit.

But there is a general sense of relief from Peel regional police after hearing that Klarenbeek is in stable condition and is expected to be ok.
