Officer on trial for G20 alledged assault

A blind-side hit from nearly three years ago brought a burly cop and a much smaller Toronto man together in court Monday morning.

Constable Glenn Weddell was identified by the provincial Special Investigations Unit as the subject officer in an assault case dating back to the G20 summit in 2010.

Scot Urquhart has just returned from Superior Court in Toronto with details of the first day of testimony in the case.
