Oakville woman drowns in backyard pool

Halton Police are investigating after a woman in her fifties died after being pulled out of a swimming pool.

Emergency responders were called to the area of Third Line and Upper Middle Rd. just before 3:00 p.m. on August 1 after receiving a report that a woman had drowned.

It is unclear whether the woman died at the scene or after being transported to hospital.

Police say the death does not appear to be suspicious.
