Halton police are looking for three men after a truck driver was kidnapped and robbed in Oakville.

Around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, the truck driver was getting ready to transport auto products to the Ford plant. He stopped to check his back doors and his co-workers say that’s when he was jumped by three men. They forced him into the back of the trailer and shut the doors and drove away with him and his cargo. The attackers were following in a red Kia minivan when they saw him try to attract attention through a slit in the back doors of the trailer, so they stopped and secured the doors before driving for another hour. Then they parked at the back of a packaging business on south Sheridan way in Mississauga and forced the driver into another trailer, where his hands and legs were secured with zip ties and the trailer door closed.

The driver spent about an hour and a half inside the trailer before he was heard and released. Before his attackers left, he heard them say they couldn’t use what they’d stolen in his truck. It was plastic molded pieces for cars that had been bound for the Ford plant. So they left the loot behind when they fled. After the driver was finally released he took the load to the plant and finished his job.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Halton Regional Police Service – Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4747 ext 2216.
