Oakville teen struck by car

Halton police say a 17-year-old Oakville woman was struck by a car Sunday. 

Police say it happened around 3:45 p.m. near the intersection of Rebecca Street and Brock Street in Oakville. 

Officers say the woman was crossing Rebecca Street from north to south within the pedestrian crossover on the east side of the intersection when she was struck by a westbound car. 

The driver of the car was a 28-year-old Oakville man.

Police say the woman was transported to Hamilton General Hospital with initially life threatening injuries. She is now in stable condition. 

The Rebecca Street area was closed for approximately three hours for the investigation.
