Oakville tanning beds

Oakville could be the first Ontario municipality to ban teens from using tanning beds.

A proposal to only allow adults 18 and over to use tanning beds is up for debate Monday night at a town council meeting.

Similar legislation already exists in several provinces including Nova Scotia, PEI and Quebec.

Ontario’s government is also looking into the health concerns linked to tanning beds, and may introduce a sweeping ban when the legislature resumes this fall.
