Oakville & Milton Humane Society saves skunk with mayo container stuck on its head

The Oakville & Milton Humane Society says a “happy skunk” has been released back into the wild after it was found with a container stuck on its head.
The humane society says a member of the public reported the skunk to the shelter.
It says an Animal Protective Services officer used pliers to safely remove the avocado mayonnaise container from the skunk’s head.
The skunk was then safely released back into the wild.
The humane society is reminding residents that animals have no way of knowing that our waste is dangerous for them.
“Make sure to wash out your cans, bottles and other recyclables thoroughly and then place the lids back on before disposing of them,” says the humane society in a post on Instagram. “Please also remove the lids off of any domed cups and cut the lid in two before you dispose of it.”
It also gave a “big paws up” to the citizen who reported the skunk to officials.
