Oakville man dies in wrong-way crash with transport truck on Highway 410

A 30-year-old Oakville man is dead after he collided head-on with a transport truck while driving in the wrong direction on Highway 410 early Wednesday morning.
Ontario Provincial Police responded to the crash around 3 a.m. near the exit at Steeles Ave. in Brampton.
Investigators say the Oakville man was travelling northbound in the southbound lanes when he collided with the truck.
Upon arrival, emergency crews pronounced the man dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported in connection with this incident.

Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says officers have received reports that the same vehicle driven by the Oakville man was also seen travelling in the wrong direction earlier that night.
Police say no charges have been laid.
All southbound lanes of Highway 410 were closed at Steeles Ave. for an investigation, but have since reopened.
