Oakville Film Festival kicks off in person after 2-year hiatus

The Oakville Film Festival is returning this week in person for the first time in two years.
The city’s only independent film festival is happening from June 22 to 28 at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts.
The ninth annual festival will feature 113 films over the week, including documentaries, short films and independent films.
The organizers are also hosting three galas, beginning with their opening night gala June 23 at 7:30 p.m., followed by their Canadian premiere gala on June 24 at 7:30 p.m. and their final gala at 7 p.m. on June 25 to support Ukraine.
The festival is hosting a fundraiser for Unite with Ukraine, in partnership with Zirkova Vodka, the Ukrainian World Congress and Grammy and three-time Juno Award-winning Ukrainian Canadian singer Chantal Kreviazuk.
Some of the films and Q&As can be streamed live or virtually.
