Just before 3 pm a 70 year old woman crossing Speers road in Oakville was struck by a Mack dump truck. The woman was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the truck, a 26 year old male from Mississauga was not hurt.

Speers road was closed at Fourth line for some time while police investigated. Any witnesses are asked to contact police.
