One woman has been arrested and three men are wanted by police after a car crashed through a construction zone on Lakeshore Road in Oakville, just east of Bronte Road around 10:45 p.m. April 17.

A CHCH freelancer says the group were allegedly involved in a carjacking in Toronto and an armed robbery in Hamilton just a few hours before the crash.

Toronto police told CHCH that the woman and three men are believed to have carjacked a man at gunpoint in the Kipling Avenue and North Queen Street area around 5:19 p.m.

The woman was arrested following the wreck and taken to a hospital, but the three other men ran away on foot.

Tactical response and canine units were at the scene earlier this morning conducting a search. Halton police now say officers in Toronto have taken over the investigation.

This is a developing story. More to come.
