Oakville apartment fire

An Oakville high rise had to be evacuated Wednesday evening after a fire sent smoke through one floor of the building.

Firefighters were called to 199 Queen Mary Drive around 8:30. Residents on all floors were forced to evacuate for 90 minutes while crews investigated and dealt with the fire. Two women were sent to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. The fire started on the eighth floor and may have been sparked by an electrical issue.
