North york man, 30, arrested after shooting in Fort Erie

Niagara police have arrested a 30-year-old man from North York after a shooting in Fort Erie on Oct. 25.

Officers responded just before 11 a.m. on Oct. 25 to a shooting in the area of Village Creek Dr. between Old Mill Rd. and Ott Rd., in Fort Erie.

A search warrant was issued for Aynla Mustafa Hassan, 30, of North York on Dec. 29.

Officers have located and arrested Hassan in Toronto and he has been taken back to Niagara.

Hassan is facing a slew of charges including attempted murder while using certain firearms, aggravated assault and fail to comply with release order.

The suspect is being held in custody for a bail hearing and will appear at a St. Catharines courthouse on Friday.
