Norfolk County woman charged with assault after trying to attack paramedic

A Norfolk County woman has been charged with assault with a weapon after allegedly assaulting a paramedic in Simcoe last Friday.

Shortly after 2 p.m. on March 28 Norfolk County OPP responded to a reported assault on Owen Street.

Police say a paramedic had an interaction with the woman, during which the paramedic was physically assaulted. No injuries were reported.

Thirty-one-year old Melissa Slater has been charged with assault with a weapon and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe in mid-May.
