Norfolk County resident charged after OPP seize nearly 50 firearms

A 70-year-old is facing multiple charges after police seized nearly 50 firearms at an address in Norfolk County.
Ontario Provincial Police carried out a search warrant in Townsend following an investigation that began in February.

Officers charged Siegfried Edgar Schuermer of Norfolk County with two counts of careless storage of a firearm – weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, and six counts of lost firearm or weapon not reported.
Schuermer is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
