Norfolk County police investigate after family dog killed by poison

Ontario Provincial Police in Norfolk County are investigating after a two-year-old French mastiff was killed by a large amount of poison.
Officers received a call from a Waterford resident on March 16 after their dog named Bain was rushed to a veterinary hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Following tests completed at the clinic, OPP were informed that Bain had ingested a large amount of poison.

Const. Ed Sanchuk says police are investigating this incident as an animal cruelty complaint.
Police haven’t said where the poison may have come from or what kind of poison it was.
