Ontario Provincial Police say a Norfolk County man was struck by lightning this weekend.

Police say they were called to a home in St Williams around 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

A 49-year-old man was working outside and cleaning the gutters when he was struck by lightning.

Police say the man refused medical help.

They’re reminding people there’s no safe place outdoors during an electrical storm.

Between six and 10 people in Canada die each year from lightning strikes.
