No plans to close Sears stores in Canada

Sears Canada says it doesn’t plan on closing any stores north of the border.

The statement comes after word out of the United States the company will close between 100 and 120 Sears and K-Mart stores because of poor holiday sales.

The retailer hopes to generate $170 million after closing the locations and selling off inventory.

However, a Sears Canada spokesperson confirmed with CHCH News that Canadian stores will not be affected.
