Cancer Care Ontario is being ordered to stop sending screening reports to doctors in paper format.

Information and privacy commissioner Ann Cavoukian says the agency has to find a more secure method to transfer the results, which contain personal health information.

The order comes after a privacy breach last February, when 15 reports were lost in the mail.

Almost seven thousand packages were sent to doctors offices in the spring using the supposedly more secure Express Post system.

The agency says it will develop its own website to deliver reports.
