Roughly 36,000 Hamilton households will get their mail from community superboxes today — but it seems at least one scheduled location won’t be ready.

Two Hamilton men camped out in front of cement pedestals on the weekend, preventing Canada Post from installing a community mailbox at East 34th St and Brucedale Ave. The mountain is the first area in Hamilton to lose door-to-door delivery.

Last week a Hamilton man was arrested and charged with mischief after police say he also tried to disrupt the installation of a superbox. Canada Post decided on the service change last year as a cost-saving measure.
