No charges laid in fatal 2024 motorcycle collision

Hamilton police say that no charges have been laid after a fatal motorcycle collision happened last fall in Hamilton’s east end.

On the afternoon of Sept. 26, 2024 a 74-year-old man from Hamilton was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Barton Street East near Barnesdale Avenue North when the collision occurred.

A 59-year-old male from St. Catharines was driving a Jeep Cherokee westbound on Barton Street East.  The motorcycle rider was ejected after he struck the side of the Jeep that was making a left turn across the eastbound lanes.

The motorcyclist later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

Officials determined that the Jeep Cherokee driver was not at fault and no charges will be laid.
