No charges laid after scooter driver struck, injured on Hamilton Mountain in July

Police say a 20-year-old driver will not be charged after hitting and seriously injuring a teen on the Hamilton Mountain in July.

Officers say the driver of a Honda Civic was travelling northbound on Upper Kenilworth Ave. near Landron Ave. on July 23 shortly after 1:30 a.m. when he struck a 15-year-old boy riding an electric scooter.

The driver of the Honda stopped his vehicle and called emergency crews.

The rider of the scooter was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but has since been released and is recovering at home.

Police have finished investigating and say no charges will be laid.
