Niagara tunnel reaches milestone

The Niagara Tunnel Project has hit an important milestone.

The last pour of concrete for the tunnel’s lining went in on Thursday.

The over 10 kilometre tunnel will allow additional water to flow in from the Niagara River, supplying energy for another 160,000 homes.

The $1.6 billion project is the largest renewable energy project of its kind under construction in the world.
