Niagara Region reports double digit jump in COVID-19 cases

Niagara Region is reporting 21 new cases of COVID-19.
Numbers released Tuesday shows 854 total cases.
That’s up from the 833 total cases reported on Monday.
The numbers come as concerns have been raised over crowded beaches and tourist attractions in the region.
Meanwhile, the government announced the return of weekend GO train service to the Niagara Region.
“This has been a very challenging time for the tourism sector, but today marks another step in Niagara Region’s recovery,” said Lisa MacLeod Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture.
“I am thrilled that weekend GO service is able to resume to Niagara. It will make it easier for people to safely visit one of the most attractive destinations in Ontario.”
