Niagara police warn residents of door-to-door sale scams

Niagara police say they have an ongoing issue with door-to-door sales with questionable intentions.
Investigators say residents have contacted police multiple times in recent weeks concerning door-to-door solicitation.
Officers say some of the sale representatives are law abiding and credentialed but not all of them.

Police say these may be scammers trying to target vulnerable people in their homes.
Officers recommend residents to get any offers in writing, including the cost, payment schedule and who is doing the work.
Investigators also say people should trust their gut, and remind residents that it’s their door, they can close it when they want to.
