Niagara police suspect hit-and-run in death of man found near transit hub

Police believe a man who died near a Niagara Falls transit hub was the victim of a hit-and-run.
Emergency crews were called to the bus transit hub on Morrison St. just west of Dorchester Rd. around 5:50 a.m. on Thursday.
Paramedics located a man, believed to be in his 50s to 60s, suffering from critical injuries.
Crews performed resuscitative efforts on the man, however, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the victim has not been confirmed by police.
Investigators are trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
Police say evidence at the scene has given detectives reason to believe that the man was struck by a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene.
The bus transit hub is an exchange point for the public to access multiple City of Niagara Falls transit buses. The transit hub is part of a parking lot that also has multiple stores.
Police are asking anyone with information about this incident or who may have security footage from the area between 11:10 p.m. on Wednesday and 5:52 a.m. on Thursday to contact investigators at 905-688-4111, ext. 1009089.
