Niagara Police seize over $750K worth of masks, hand sanitizer

Niagara Police have seized over $750,000 worth of masks and hand sanitizer they say were fraudulently obtained.

The investigation began in Niagara Falls, where officers were called to a local business that sells these products.

Detectives were looking into a purchase of 130,000 N95 face masks and 7,500 bottles of hand sanitizer worth about $767,000.

Police say the items were bought with a fraudulent bank draft.

A search warrant was executed at a Vaughan warehouse.

Richard Hariraj, 34, of Woodbridge has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
