Niagara police seek witnesses after man, 84, injured in hit-and-run

Niagara police are appealing to the public after a hit-and-run in Niagara-on-the-Lake left an 84-year-old man with life-threatening injuries.

Officers found the injured man lying in the north side drainage ditch on East West Line at Concession 2 around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was airlifted to an out-of-region hospital.

Investigators say the man was riding his bicycle when he was hit by a either truck or utility vehicle.

The unknown vehicle left before police arrived. Investigators say its passenger side view mirror and the front corner of the passenger side is damaged.
