Niagara police seek suspect in sexual assault in St. Catharines

Niagara police are looking for a suspect in a sexual assault investigation in St. Catharines.

On Sept. 5, at around 3:21 p.m., police commenced an investigation into an alleged sexual assault that occurred near Malcolmson Eco Park located at 325 Lakeshore Road at around 1:00 p.m.

Police say a 17-year-old man was walking with his German shepherd dog northbound along a gravel trail when the suspect approached the man. He was led into a wooded area where the allegation of sexual assault is said to have occurred. The man sustained no physical injuries.

The suspect is described as white, 20-30 years old, 5’1″, muscular build, blue eyes, blonde shoulder length hair (shaved on sides) and a beard.

Police say the suspect was last seen wearing black pants, black dress shoes, a green jacket with a short sleeve button up shirt that was pink, blue, green and yellow underneath.

The victim and the suspect were not known to one and another.
