Niagara police seek man wanted in human trafficking investigation

A Brampton man evaded police capture last night by fleeing his vehicle and running into a nearby ravine in St. Catharines.
O’Neil Christopher King, 32, is a suspect wanted by Niagara Regional Police for numerous criminal offences related to human trafficking.
Police say King was spotted inside of a red 2015 Dodge Dart Tuesday evening in the area of Clifford’s Creek Park near Oakdale Ave. and Smythe St.
The suspect reportedly abandoned his vehicle and ran westbound into a ravine.
With help from the K9 Unit, officers tracked the suspect through the ravine to the guardrail of Highway 406. Officers believe the suspect jumped the guardrail and ran across several live lanes of traffic in order to escape.

King is currently wanted for the following eight offences:
- Financial material benefit trafficking person over 18
- Advertising another person’s sexual services
- Trafficking in persons by exercising control
- Material benefits from sexual services
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Procuring / exercising control
- Uttering threats
- Assault
Detectives have reason to believe King is in the possession of a firearm and is considered to be armed and dangerous.
