Niagara police seek 4 men in attempted gunpoint car robbery

Police are searching for four men accused of attempting to steal a car at gunpoint and assaulting a man in Lincoln early Wednesday morning.
Officers responded shortly before 3:30 a.m. to a home on Dennis Ave. near Garden Gate Terrace where they found the male complainant who was sprayed with a product similar to a bear or dog spray.
Investigators say the man awoke to an unknown man in his driveway trying to steal his car. When the victim went outside to confront the suspect, he began yelling as a struggle broke out between the pair.
Three additional men arrived, one of them sprayed the victim and the other two pointed pistols as they threatened to kill him.
Police say the victim recalls hearing sounds similar to Airsoft pistols being fired, however, he was not shot.

The four suspects fled in an older, light-coloured, four-door sedan with a loud muffler that was not maintained well. The car was last seen turning south onto Bartlett Rd. toward John St.
The four Black men are believed to be 18-20 years old, approximately five-foot-ten and six feet tall. They were all wearing dark clothing and face coverings, and one of them had an accent.
Investigators believe this incident is related to a group of three armed men stealing from unlocked cars in Lincoln and Grimsby neighbourhoods.
People who may see the suspects are asked to not approach them and call police instead because they are considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with surveillance camera footage or further information is asked to contact police at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009386.
