Niagara police find the body of a missing swimmer in Chippawa Creek

A teenager has drowned in a Niagara Falls area river over the weekend, after going to the popular location for a swim.

The Niagara police marine unit started searching for the missing 17-year-old swimmer shortly before 4:30 pm yesterday in the Chippawa Creek.

Officers found his body a little more than four hours later.

Chippawa residents say they see the same tragedy every year.
