Niagara police patrolling school areas
A word of caution if you’re driving in the Niagara region Tuesday that police are enforcing traffic laws in school zones.
Even Chief Wendy Southall from the Niagara Regional Police was out on patrol Tuesday morning.
They’re targeting speeders in school zones and people not stopping for school buses.
One of the first drivers pulled over, for going 85 in a 60 kilometre zone, was a school teacher.
Meanwhile, Hamilton police will be participating in the school bus enforcement strategy over the next two weeks.
Drivers who don’t stop for buses when the red signals are flashing could face a fine up to $4,000.
