Niagara police arrest man after St. Catharines bus terminal stabbing

Niagara police have arrested a St. Catharines man in connection to a stabbing at a St. Catharines bus terminal.

Police say the stabbing happened July 19 at the St. Catharines Bus Terminal on Carlisle St.

Investigations revealed a man got involved in an argument with an unknown man and women. The argument escalated, and the unknown man stabbed the victim before running away with the unknown woman.

The victim was treated by paramedics for a serious injury from a knife. He was then sent to a local hospital for further treatment.

34-year-old Mason Jeannotte from St. Catharines is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and failure to comply with release order.

Police say they have identified the unknown woman but will not make her identity public because she has not been arrested.

The investigation surrounding her involvement is ongoing.
