Niagara police investigating stabbing in St. Catharines

Niagara regional police are investigating a stabbing that happened in St. Catharines Sunday just before 7 p.m.

Officers were called shortly before 7 p.m. to Church St. and Calvin St. after reports of an assault. Police say two men got into a fight and a 47-year-old was stabbed. He was taken to hospital but is expected to recover.

Police are looking for 48-year-old Roger Vanblaricum who is wanted for aggravated assault. He is described as being 5’7, 220 lbs with short blonde hair and green eyes.

Police say he has ties to St. Catharines.
