Niagara police investigating sexual assault in St. Catharines

Niagara Regional Police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred on the Hydro Hills walking trails in the area of Lockhart Drive and Headworks Rd. in St. Catharines.
Police say a female in her 70’s was walking along the trails just after noon today when an unknown male grabbed her and forced her into the bushes where she was sexually assaulted.
The male fled on foot through the trails, while a passerby was able to help the victim and call 911. The female was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
The suspect is described as, white, tan skin, 5’4, dark hair with a skinny athletic build. He was wearing dark pants and a grey shirt with a pattern.
Niagara police are asking the public to stay out of the area and off the trails while they investigate.
Niagara Regional Police (@NiagRegPolice) is currently investigating an off-campus incident that occurred on escarpment trails north of Brock’s main campus. People are advised to stay away from the area as the investigation continues.
