Niagara police investigate sudden death in St. Catharines

Niagara police are investigating a sudden death at a home in St. Catharines.

Officers were called to the home in the area of Trinidad Cres. and Shoreline Dr. around 11:30 a.m. for a welfare check.

Police spokesperson Cst. Phil Gavin says the investigation is ongoing and they are working with the coroner’s officer. A postmortem is expected to be done Wednesday.

Firefighters also responded and extinguished a small fire inside the house.

Niagara police say their detectives are still investigating and they will provide updates as new information becomes available.
