Niagara police investigate assault at Fort Erie bar

Niagara police are investigating after a man was hit over the head with a beer bottle at a bar in Fort Erie.

Police say the fight broke out at Southsides Patio Bar and Grill on Niagara Blvd. around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday.

The altercation escalated to the patio where the suspect struck the victim over the head with a beer bottle. The victim suffered a large gash to the back of his head and a broken nose.

Police are looking for a man who is described as black, five-foot-ten, with a slim build, a goatee, and long dread locks which were tucked into a black beanie.

He was wearing a white shirt, grey pants, white runners and spoke with a Jamaican accent.
