Niagara police are investigating after more than $8,000 in cash and numerous electronics were stolen from two stores in St. Catharines.

Officers were alerted to a break and enter at the uBreakiFix phone and electronic repair store on Fourth Ave. around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Police learned a grey sedan had pulled up to the front of the store and a male passenger wearing a dark-coloured hooded sweatshirt and a mask got out of the vehicle.

He then broke the glass to gain access to the building and stole multiple items and cash once inside.

The man fled the area before officers arrived on scene.

Police say someone broke into the Metro Cell store on Glendale Ave. and stole more than $8,000 in cash, as well as several iPhones and cameras.

The thief then fled the area in a grey sedan heading eastbound on Glendale Ave. toward the northbound ramp of Highway 406.
